Netflix premiered Temptation Island’s newest season on March 12, 2025, and among the controversial pairings of the season was Tyler Breshears and Kay Carlson—but are they still together? After a brief hiatus, the series returned with shocking twists, heartbreaks, and new connections. The show followed four couples who put their relationships to the test by isolating from one another and living with a group of singles of the opposite sex. By the end, each couple had to decide whether to leave the island together, alone, or with someone new.
Unlike Alexa Santamaria and Lino Troisi, who stayed faithful, left together, and got engaged, Tyler and Kay didn’t arrive as a couple. Instead, despite Tyler being in a relationship with Tayler Byrd, he and Kay connected on the island and decided to pursue it beyond the island. This made them a controversial pair, as audiences witnessed Tayler’s emotional breakdown over Tyler’s betrayal. 27-year-old model, Tyler, joined the island with his girlfriend, 30-year-old Health Education Specialist, Tayler, whom he began dating after ending his six-year marriage. Because of this, he never had the chance to date around and hoped the experience would help him learn more about himself, and whether he was ready to commit. Meanwhile, Tayler hoped their time on Temptation Island would reassure her of his commitment and that Tyler wouldn’t be tempted outside their relationship again, as he had been before. Kay, however, arrived with the intent of tempting the men—and she had her sights set on Tyler.

At first, Tyler reassured Tayler that he only wanted to be with her, but in a shocking moment, he soon broke that commitment. Drawn to Kay’s easy-going nature, witty banter, and positive outlook, sparks quickly flew between them. Tyler’s interest was peeked, especially when he had another temptress pass Kay a note asking her out on a date like shy teenagers do. It didn’t take long for him to realize his relationship with Tayler was over as his connection with Kay grew. Tayler came to the same realization once she saw their bond unfold at the bonfire.

However, it wasn’t until host Mark. L. Walberg showed Tyler, Tayler’s comment about him having “b—h tendencies” that he fully moved on physically with Kay. Their connection deepened through dates and interactions, making it unsurprising when the couple shared the same bed and kissed more than once. Kay expressed how safe and comfortable she felt with Tyler, confirming she wanted to pursue him beyond the island. Eventually, both admitted in their confessionals that they were falling for each other.
During the final bonfire, Tyler and Tayler confronted their issues and realized they were not meant to be. Through their own journeys on Temptation Island, they realized they deserved more from a relationship than what they had given each other, leading them to call it quits. Tayler chose to leave the island alone, while Tyler decided he wanted to explore his connection with Kay. Kay happily agreed, and the new couple left the island together.

Although the couple hasn’t publicly confirmed anything, Kay and Tyler have had little interaction on social media—unlike Ashley Moore and Danny Spongberg, who have left cheeky remarks in each other’s comments. Kay did comment on one of Tyler’s posts, but he didn’t respond. However, she has been active on TikTok, where a few of her videos have sparked rumors about their relationship status. In one TikTok (@kaygcarlson), she shared a video of herself and her dog with the caption “Leaving because he deserves less and my dog deserves better.”

A few days later, she posted another video (@kaygcarlson) in a new apartment with the caption, “An apartment he’s never been in,” followed by happy emojis. Audiences have speculated that the “he” she referenced is Tyler, her connection from Temptation Island. However, Kay commented that her videos are not about their relationship and urged viewers to “never take [Kay’s] vids serious.” Still, the timing feels too coincidental, leaving audiences uncertain. She also mentioned in the comments that she’s sworn to secrecy for now and hopes for a reunion.
