Born Again Episode 4, I’m Convinced I Know What Marvel Character Hunter Doohan Is Playing In The MCU

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 4.Hunter Doohan’s mystery MCU character is all but confirmed thanks to Daredevil: Born Again episode 4’s credits. Daredevil: Born Again kills off Foggy Nelson and distances Karen Page from Matt Murdock, but it also adds multiple new characters to Matt Murdock’s MCU mythos, including Kirsten McDuffie, BB Urich, Daniel Blake, and Heather Glenn. Matt Murdock gains new allies following Foggy’s tragic death, and he also reignites old feuds with villains like Wilson Fisk and Bullseye, and faces new threats like an army of corrupt police officers and the twisted criminal Muse.
Daredevil: Born Again episode 4 brings back Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher and introduces Muse. Though the Punisher and Muse only appear on screen very briefly in episode 4, it’s clear that they’ll have a bigger role in future episodes. Muse, in particular, seems to be preparing a twisted art piece similar to the ones he’s known for in the source material. While Daredevil: Born Again episode 4’s ending doesn’t elaborate on Muse’s plans and identity, it suggests Muse will be a threat just as dangerous to Matt Murdock as Wilson Fisk and Bullseye.
Hunter Doohan’s Bastian Is In Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4’s Credits
Hunter Doohan Is Credited In Episode 4 Despite Apparently Not Appearing On Screen
Hunter Doohan, who played the awkward Bastian in Daredevil: Born Again episode 1, is included in episode 4’s “guest starring” credits. However, Doohan’s Bastian doesn’t appear at any point in Daredevil: Born Again episode 4. Bastian hasn’t appeared on screen in his civilian attire since he attended Heather Glenn’s book signing in Daredevil: Born Again episode 2, where Doohan was first credited.
I’m Convinced Hunter Doohan Is Playing This Daredevil Villain In Born Again Episode 4
Daredevil: Born Again Episode 3 and 4’s Credits Are The Ultimate Proof Hunter Doohan Is Playing Muse
Hunter Doohan is credited in Daredevil: Born Again episode 2, where Bastian makes his onscreen debut in a short scene. Doohan is also credited in Daredevil: Born Again episode 4, where the MCU’s Muse is officially introduced. Doohan isn’t credited in Daredevil: Born Again episode 1 or episode 3, where neither Bastian nor Muse appear. Clearly, Bastian and Muse are connected through Hunter Doohan, so it’s just a matter of time until Daredevil: Born Again confirms that Bastian and Muse are one and the same.

Why Punisher Refuses To Work With Daredevil In Born Again
9 years later, Matt Murdock and Punisher finally reunite in Daredevil: Born Again episode 4, only for Frank Castle to reject the Man Without Fear.
Curiously, Muse is one of the few Marvel villains whose real identity and background are completely unknown. Daredevil: Born Again giving Muse a civilian identity would be an original addition to the character’s story by Marvel Studios. Considering the MCU’s Muse is inherently different to his comic book counterpart in several aspects (such as not targeting Inhuman victims), it makes sense for the live-action Muse to have a well-defined background.
