As most Destiny 2 veterans know, each week, after the reset, a new Nightfall strike and Featured Weapon are chosen from the pool and activated in Vanguard Ops. What newer players might not know is that Nightfall strikes are a pretty good entry point to endgame activities, as they’re not as complex as raids or dungeons but can be similarly challenging. Completing these activities can earn you activity-exclusive gear like the Lotus-Eater rocket sidearm, so they’re worth your time.
The weapon rotation for Nightfalls isn’t revealed ahead of time, but March 18 marks the seventh Nightfall week of the Episode, meaning we now know the order for all eight total weapons. From this order, we can extrapolate what weapon will appear when, allowing you to prepare to grind the ones you’re looking for before they show up.
What Is Nightfall Weapon Rotation?
Eight Powerful Vanguard Weapons Are Yours To Chase
From the pool of eight Nightfall weapons each Episode, one is chosen to be featured every week. The featured weapon can be purchased from Zavala in the Tower for Vanguard Engrams and Adept Vanguard Cyphers, and is also more likely to drop from normal Nightfall completions.

Destiny 2 is moving toward a new content system in Frontiers, but should the lack of information cause doubt that it will be released on time?
Because there are only eight weapons in the pool, each weapon will be featured more than once. Before a weapon can reappear, however, all other weapons in the pool will be featured first. That means if you missed grabbing Lotus-Eater or its god roll the first time, you’ll need to be ready for the next time it comes around.

This order of weapons will continue weekly. Lotus-Eater will always come right before Wild Style, Rake Angle will always come after Scintillation, and this order should continue until the Episode ends with the expected release of Codename: Apollo coming this summer. If you miss out on your weapon of choice this Episode, you can hold out hope that it will return in later Episodes, though this is never guaranteed.
Whether you’re chasing your perfect Lotus-Eater or god roll Rake Angle, Nightfalls are a great way to grab powerful weapons and materials in Destiny 2, and with the full rotation revealed, you can now properly prepare to grind them out. The easier levels of Nightfall are even matchmade, meaning you can run this no matter if your clan is available or not. Load into some of the easiest engame content in the game for rewards that are well worth your time.
