American Idol Season 23 Preview Reveals Carrie Underwood’s Hidden Talents Amid Criticism Of Her Judging Style

American Idol season 23’s newest judge Carrie Underwood is revealed to have some exciting hidden talents during a preview clip from the next episode of the long-running reality TV singing competition, even amid signs her judging style isn’t fit for the show. Carrie, who won American Idol season 4 in 2005, is the first winner to ever return to the show as a judge. While it’s obvious that the country mega-star is a talented vocalist, she’s proving herself as a judge this season, using her industry knowledge to help new talent find their way. Now, she’s revealing hidden talents, too.

While some expected Carrie to be overly emotional and soft, she’s actually been one of the more difficult judges this season.

In a clip from the next episode of American Idol, Carrie is shown taking on a whole new skill during the judging of an Idol audition. Shown in the clip dancing alongside someone who appears to be well versed in clog dancing, Carrie seems like a natural even though she doesn’t quite know the steps. Laughing alongside her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, Carrie jokingly shares that she’s “been around so much clogging” in her life. “@carrieunderwood the clogger 🤩🙌 Ya never know what’ll happen on IDOL,” the post’s caption reads, leaving many excited to see the audition.

Although Carrie hasn’t been received well thus far on American Idol season 23, her time on the show is just getting started. As a former winner, Carrie has been doing a lot for the contestants coming into the Idol process. She knows exactly what it feels like to be standing across from the judge’s table and singing for the chance of a lifetime, which means she’s been particular about who she wants to bring forward in the competition. While some expected Carrie to be overly emotional and soft, she’s actually been one of the more difficult judges this season.
