In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, selling is just as important as purchasing, so you can increase the stats of your character. This becomes especially important as you get closer to the level cap and the enemies become more difficult. Luckily, there are various vendors you can visit to purchase multiple necessities, such as upgrades, gear, and cosmetics.

The different vendors are spread out throughout the regions. Knowing the location of these vendors will help tremendously, so you don’t find yourself wandering aimlessly throughout the different regions when you’re in dire need of upgrading your character in AC Shadows.

Knowing The Type Of Merchants

Naoe is about to talk to a food vendor in AC Shadows.

In AC Shadows, four merchant types will allow you to find the best build for your character. You have a Gear Vendor that sells weapons and armor, then there is the Port Trader who you can purchase items to upgrade your hideout with.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: All Nobutsuna’s Students Locations & Rewards

If you find all 7 of Nobutsuna’s students, you will receive multiple rewards in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but some may be easier to find than others.

The Ornament Vendors sell various cosmetics that can be used for your hideout or horse. Then you have sixteen Food Vendors that give you dishes that not only count as quest items, but will allow you to increase your number of Rations. Some vendors and traders will overlap with their merchant type and locations. You will need gold (mon) to purchase items from these vendors.

The Blacksmith Location

Finding Heiji And Hiring Him For Your Forge

Before you can begin upgrading your gear, you will need to recruit a blacksmith named Heiji for a quest called Ways of the Blacksmith. You can find him east of the port area in the Village of Sakai. You will see a man being threatened by some thugs. Once the thugs are dealt with, the man will reveal that he is Heiji.

After talking with him for a bit, you can basically hire him to work the Forge you will build at your hideout. You will now be free to upgrade your gear whenever you want. Keep in mind that to upgrade your gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will need to make sure you have enough of the required materials.
