Today’s Connections Hints & Answers For March 24, 2025 (Puzzle #652)

If you are struggling to get stable with today’s Connections puzzle, you can attempt to level out with a few clues from us today. I found this one a little challenging, mainly because I felt really close to all of the answers and found a fair amount of misdirects along the way. However, thanks to my experience I can get you the rest of the way there using a few clues and giving you a bit of a nudge when you need it.

If you are looking for something a little different, you will want to try something like The Password Game Puzzle. It is very different from the other options, but it includes some of the same elements. For instance, you have to solve the Wordle puzzle to get through the end of the daily password quest. However, if you play this one a lot, you’ll never run out of options for new passwords when you’re forced to change it.

Today’s Connections Category Hints

MARCH 24 #652

Earth in Connections Categories March 24

If you need some hints for this one, my best advice would be to think through each collection of words before you submit it. There’s a lot of misdirection in this one, and I put a lot of words in the wrong category but was on the right track to understanding what the category was. It was a lot of “one-aways” which was hard for me to get through. However, you can use these clues to help you get a little closer:

  • One category is about things that aren’t looking so great anymore
  • One category is about things that do not waver
  • One category is about a system for knowing who should not see something
  • One category is about things that Shrek would like a lot

Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.

If you still need a little nudge to the end of the puzzle, you can use the category names to get a little further. However, you might need to peek at the spoilers to get to the end of the puzzle for some of these that don’t make as much sense as others.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

BAD-SMELLING

FOUL

RANK

RIPE

SOUR

This one was one of the easier ones to get, as it felt pretty simple. All of these things have a pretty strong smell, although I could see accidentally putting in ONIONhere. It’s always odd to me to remember that RIPE can also mean bad-smelling, because normally it means that something is at the perfect level to eat it. It’s not until it’s overripe that it tends to be bad, and you don’t want to eat it anymore – unless it’s bananas and you can turn it into bread.

UNIFORM

This one was where things got a little more messy. LEVEL, UNIFORM, and RANK were a big trick that got me early on. However, once I got past that, it was these words and the purple ones left, and I had a much harder time getting through it. I was focusing on the layers, because I had a good idea that that’s what it was. And I’m still a little mad about it, because LEVEL does seem like it’s more like a layer than one of the other ones.

ADULTS ONLY

EVERYONE

MATURE

TEEN

This one was much easier for me, as someone who does play a lot of video games. ADULTS ONLY and EVERYONE gave it away, even though it’s not using the abbreviated letter system. Then it was just a matter of finding the other two words. However, I can see that this one might be a little more complicated if you aren’t familiar with rating systems. I still think most of these make sense, but it might not take as short of a time to spot it as it took me.

THINGS WITH LAYERS

EARTH

HENHOUSE

ONION

PHOTOSHOP

This one was frustrating. I had all of the layered words in the category, but HENHOUSE doesn’t scream layers to me. I get that the hens are in rows, but that just doesn’t seem like it belongs here in the same way something else would. I don’t really think LEVEL belongs here either, but it does make more sense to my brain than HENHOUSE. Or, at the very least, it’s not something most people would associate with a layer in the same way the other words are.
