Natasha Rothwell Teases Action-Packed Final Two Episodes Of The White Lotus Season 3
“Audiences Aren’t Going To Know What Hit Them”
Ever since Belinda decided to confront Greg about knowing who he is, she has been on edge. After learning about Tanya’s death, she cannot help but suspect him – and it doesn’t help that he is going by a different name. Rothwell teases what is to come at the end of The White Lotus season 3, revealing, “It is probably the most action-packed last two episodes.” She says, “I don’t think anyone’s ready. I sure wasn’t. When I read it I was like Holy Sh–.“
Fans of hers certainly hope that she survives and that Greg gets what is coming to him. Of course, she cannot say, but she does add, “It’s been so cool to watch the episodes and see all of that come to life. Obviously, I’ve read it and I know what’s going to happen, but it’s still so surprising. So audiences, they’re not going to know what hit them.“
Natasha Rothwell Was “Floored” When She Saw Jon Gries Was Coming Back
“It Was So Exciting To Bring In That Threat So Beautifully And Elegantly In The Script”
Rothwell’s Belinda garnered a big fanbase during the first season of The White Lotus, so audiences were excited to see her come back for season three. She reveals that she was excited to return as well, detailing that Mike White invited her out to dinner and revealed he was thinking of Belinda for another season. “I was like, say less, I’m there,” before going on to explain it still didn’t feel real, “I’m a writer, too, so I know that nothing’s really real until you put pen to paper.” Still, she said yet before she read a single script.
I think she’s scared for her life. She’s definitely worried that she’s next.
What was most exciting this season though, is that Belinda did not return alone. Greg’s appearance was a very well kept secret, one that Rothwell was thrilled about: “When I finally read the scripts and I saw who else was coming back, I was just floored. It was so exciting to be able to bring in that threat so beautifully and elegantly in the script.“
Belinda thought that Tanya ghosted her, but now that she realizes she died, we asked if her investigation into that death is acting as closure for her. Rothwell doesn’t feel that way, admitting “I think at this point, she’s pivoted from trying to get closure from Tanya. I think she’s already got that, you know? I think she’s scared for her life. She’s definitely worried that she’s next.”
Natasha Rothwell Discusses Forming A Mother-Son Dynamic & A Romantic Relationship On The White Lotus
“She Was Flirting With Possibilities, Literally And Figuratively”
The White Lotus season 3 explores two major relationships for Belinda. One with her son, Zion, and one with a friend turned romantic partner, Pornchai. “It was really exciting to see another shade on Belinda,” Rothwell explains, “And when people vacation, they audition different versions of themselves, so I think she was flirting with possibilities, literally and figuratively.“
When asked about why Porncai and Belinda connected, Rothwell reveals, “I think there’s something that happens to you when someone sees your passion and is passionate about it, too. They’re both in massage therapy. They’re learning techniques. He sees her, they’re excited about the same things, and I think when you feel seen, that’s a turn-on.” She adds, “Dom is very symmetrical. So it was not a far leap that she would probably be interested.“

After five episodes, one character stands out as having the worst week in The White Lotus season 3, and they might not even be the mystery victim.
Rothwell talks about finding a believable mother-son bond with Nicholas Duvernay, first saying that he is “such a great guy” and “it’s so cool to see Belinda with her son, and he’s an adult trying to relate to her as a friend.” She recalls trying to do that with her parents, saying “there’s always that awkward stage where it’s just like, I’m an adult, but I need you. But also I’m going to have this drink in front of you, and we’re going to be okay about that.“
Having a normal and friendly relationship with your adult child is something that Rothwell feels was cool to explore this season. Rothwell looks back on when she first met Duvernay, “he had just got to Thailand, and we met for dinner. He’s a little bit younger than me so I didn’t anticipate a long dinner. I knew he was tired, and he also wanted to say hi to some of the other castmates, but we ended up having a three-hour dinner and just talking about our backstory and really getting into it.” She adds that they still text each other, and he will write things like, “all right, mom“.
