One Piece fans have an exciting new project to look forward to, as the franchise is officially getting a unique spin-off anime adaptation. Titled Koisuru ONE PIECE or One Piece in Love, this short vertical anime is set to premiere on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, running for five days starting April 1, 2025. Unlike the main series, which follows Luffy and his crew on high-seas adventures, this spin-off takes a more lighthearted and comedic approach, centering on the lives of three high school students with a shared love for One Piece.
According to @WSJ_manga on X, rather than focusing on pirates, battles, and legendary treasures, Koisuru ONE PIECE will dive into fandom culture itself. The story follows a high school boy, his girlfriend, and a third-wheel friend obsessed with One Piece, forming a fan club dedicated to the series. Their names cleverly mirror those of the Straw Hat Pirates, and the show will likely parody famous episodes and arcs from the original anime. With its short format and comedic tone, this spin-off is set to offer a fresh and fun way for fans to see the One Piece universe differently.
