Warning! This article contains spoilers for Severance season 2’s finale.
Milchick has had many epic moments since Severance‘s beginning, but his best scene from season 1 has finally been blown out of proportion by one sequence from season 2’s finale. When it comes to overall storytelling, Severance season 2 may or may not have been able to top several aspects of its predecessor. Even though Severance season 2 ends its run on a memorable note, it is arguable whether its conclusive arc is nearly as compelling as that of season 1. However, when it comes to Milchick’s side of the story, season 2 enhances it in more ways than one.
Throughout its runtime, Severance season 2 features many unforgettable Milchick sequences. The first one shows up in an early episode where the character shares an unpleasant exchange with Natalie after receiving a racist gift from Lumon. The second comes much later when he attempts to “eradicate” his use of “big words” by staring at himself in the mirror and hissing “grow.” The third is when he finally reaches the end of his wits and snaps back at Drummond by asking him to “devour feculence.” And finally, his most epic moment comes in Severance season 2’s finale.
Milchick’s Season 2 Finale Dance Scene Doubles Down On His “Defiant Jazz” Season 1 Moment
Milchick Beats His Defiant Jazz Performance With His Show In Severance Season 2’s Finale
Milchick broke out into a fun dance in Severance season 1’s episode 7 and flaunted his skills to Joe McPhee’s “Shakey Jake.” Although the entire sequence had a strange tension to it because of the dynamic the severed workers have always shared with him, it was hard not to notice how Milchick could actually move a little too well. The sequence from season 1 ended abruptly after Dylan lost his temper and attacked Milchick after getting flashes from his Overtime Contingency incident. However, before that, Milchick had the center stage to himself as he danced away under the MDR office’s flashy disco lights.

One could never have imagined that Milchick would top his season 1 dance with an even better sequence in season 2. However, that is exactly what he does in Severance season 2’s ending arc after Mark finishes the Cold Harbor file. He leads the marching band from Lumon’s Choreography and Merriment (C&M) department and puts his baton control on full display. Although his performance is again cut short, he manages to steal the show and become the center of attention all over again. A closer look at his performance, however, reveals how it reflects a darker truth.
Milchick’s Musical Celebration Being Ruined Is A Harsh Reflection Of His Experience At Lumon
Milchick Just Cannot Catch A Break In Severance
Every time Milchick makes provisions to improve things in Lumon’s MDR department and finally sees a speck of hope, it all eventually ends in disappointment and disaster. In season 1, the character was only trying to protect Lumon’s secrets when he used the Overtime Contingency Protocol to ask Dylan where he hid the card he stole from O&D. However, to his dismay, the innies later used the OTC as a gateway to escape to the outside world and learn more about their outies.
fter being looked down upon by Drummond, Milchick took a stand for himself in Severance season 2’s final arc and proved his worth in the company by ensuring that the Cold Harbor file was completed under his command.
In season 2, Milchick took it upon himself to bring some positive change in Lumon’s MDR department by introducing several perks and reforms. However, that, too, backfired when the innies remained rebellious. Even the ORTBO was not only a massive failure but also nearly got an Eagan killed. After being looked down upon by Drummond, Milchick took a stand for himself in Severance season 2’s final arc and proved his worth in the company by ensuring that the Cold Harbor file was completed under his command.
With his final marching band performance, he even celebrated his win, hoping to finally earn the fruits of the seeds he had sown. However, this, too, culminates in him getting locked in the bathroom while Mark wreaks havoc in the Lumon building by killing Drummond and rescuing Gemma. It looks like, despite his best efforts, Milchick just cannot win at his job. Maybe, in Severance season 3, redeeming himself and changing sides will finally give him the chance to be proud of himself.
